Taz’s Wine/Tobacco: The Best Deal on Wine in Town

Local burgeoning retailer Taiseer “Taz” Zarka opened his fifth store a little over a week ago. Featuring beer, wine, flowers, tobacco products, and tourist items(!), yet another missing niche was fulfilled with this store. While it was reported that there are over 1,000 brands of wine available for sale, what hasn’t been reported is the far more interesting twist: outdoor seating and a free plate of hors d’Å“uvres with every glass of wine.

The Queens Together Motorcycle Festival and Stunt Show

This past Saturday saw a portion of Salisbury Street closed off for the Queens Together National Motorcycle Club 7th Anniversary Reunion. It was a two day event in total, but the part I attended (Saturday afternoon) was a stunt show, festival, and showcase of tricked out motorcycles. The music, dancing, artwork, and various booths added a welcome splash of culture to a part of Raleigh that is usually quiet on weekends.

Raleigh Loses a Beloved Icon; His Family Needs Your Help

This past Sunday at 7:16PM, Raleigh lost one of its most beloved and inspirational characters–Russell Lee, a.k.a. “Sho Nuff”. His family is unable to find life insurance information for him, and needs help with funeral and other final expenses.
