Mecca Restaurant is known to many locals as the quintessential lunch spot and the oldest family-run restaurant in Raleigh (and probably in NC). I’m guessing there are many like me, though, that didn’t know until recently (or at all) that they also serve breakfast.
Above is Neo, as he takes a break from bringing joy to early risers in the form of coffee and doughnuts at the Krispy Kreme in City Plaza.
A bit off the beaten path at Edna Metz Wells Park lies a hidden urban oasis of sorts. More of a swamp than a life-giving patch of water, one of its walls has a rather striking mural, emblazoned with the letters “DE”.
