Goodnight Raleigh - a look at the art, architecture, history, and people of the city at night

Jailed Muppet Makes a Phone Call

The jailed muppet on Salisbury Street is part of a storefront display for Teddy Wright, a Bail Bondsman. You can usually find new comical scenarios being played out every week or two. A few months ago, we posted a photo of him taking a nap.

Looking North at State Government

Looking northward, above is a large enclave of state government buildings. These including the Revenue Building (foregorund), North Carolina Museum of History (left of Capitol), Bath Building (center background), Education Building (left background), and Archdale Building (center-left background), among others.

A Second Round of Snow — by Nightfall

This is the first time in the five or so years that I’ve lived here that we’ve received more than a trace of snow twice in one season. From midnight on, it was mostly a mix of water and snow, with some spots covered while others randomly weren’t. Borrowing a phrase from a friend, I decided to go “snowcycling” to hit up some of the usual vantage points to catch the snow coming down.

The images in this post are how I see Raleigh during the snow, how about you? Send your pictures (daytime or nighttime) to goodnightraleigh@gmail.com and we’ll add them here. If you use flickr or have a blog/website, be sure to include it so we can give you credit. Please resize images to 900×600 pixels if possible.
