Faces at the NC State Fair

This is an excerpt from Scott Fitzgerald’s book, A Night at the Fair:

Once again the fair–but differing from the fair of the afternoon as a girl in the daytime differs from her radiant presentation of herself at night. The substance of the cardboard booths and plaster palaces was gone, the forms remained. Outlined in lights, these forms suggested things more mysterious and entrancing than themselves, and the people strolling along the network of little Broadways shared this quality, as their pale faces singly and in clusters broke the half darkness.

A Night at the Fair

The long exposure of this shot allowed the people in it to look blurry, which I think protrays the busyness the NC State Fair. Twilight was fading fast, but I was able to get set up take this picture while some blue sky was still visible.

Maximus Circus at Raleigh Wide Open

Last Saturday marked the 5th annual Raleigh Wide Open downtown festival. While the event as a whole was surprisingly well orchestrated, heavily trafficked, and overall pretty awesome, the highlight of the event was the debut show of Maximus Circus, a collaboration of Gamil Design and AcroEntertainment.
