Showroom and Workspace: Edge Office

Located on the south end of Glenwood Avenue, Edge Office is part professional/industrial furniture retailer and part workspace. They specialize in providing complete office furnishing solutions for profesional businesses and entrepreneurs.

I first became acquainted with Edge Office during the 30THREADS launch party put on by Ginny Skalski and Wayne Sutton back in July. I was immediately impressed with the environment, if not a bit confused. I wasn’t sure if it was a software company or a coworking environment—turns out it is neither one. They are a professional office furnishings retailer. It is unique in that Edge Office not only serves as a showroom, but also as a functioning demonstration of the equipment and workspace solutions they provide.

Edge Office is not simply a supplier of workspace environments, but they also serve as a meeting space for social events and meetups in the community. Recently they hosted RTP Startup Weekend, an event covered by NBC news in which local residents got together over a weekend to create internet startups and solicit advice from venture capitalists and experienced technology professionals.

Edge Office has supplied some of the largest companies in the area with office furniture. These companies include SAS, IBM, Hosted Solutions, Bowe Bell and Howell, NetApp, among others. You don’t have to be a medium or large-sized organization to purchase well-designed office equipment, however. If you work from a home office or even just need well designed chair to sit in while playing your favorite computer game, contact the folks at Edge.

To get a quick overview of the services and products they provide, check out their online promotional video.

Goodnight Raleigh, great post and nice angles on Edge-Office workspace environment. I love that Edge-Office gives back to the community and their employees are awesome to work with.

It has been fun getting to know Michael Kerr and working with the Edge-Office team. I wish them much success in 2009.
