For Flashback Friday this week we take the trolley out Hillsboro St. to the campus of NC A&M (NC State University today). Although the buildings are still standing, the ‘general view’ of 100 years ago depicted here is vastly different from what we would find today.
Our vintage postcard for Flashback Friday this week depicts a classic 1960s era downtown motel — the Raleigh TraveLodge. The building still stands and functions as a motel, but you’d never recognize it today.
This week Flashback Friday takes a look at a long-lost Raleigh collegiate landmark, Shaw Hall, once the center of the Shaw University campus.
