Flashback Friday takes a visit this week to the former Wake County Home for the Aged and Infirm, which was built on the outskirts of Raleigh in 1915. The County Home is no more, but the repurposed building itself still stands on Whitaker Mill Rd.
This week for Flashback Friday we revisit a downtown Raleigh landmark — the former Holiday Inn on Hillsboro St. — this time at night.
This week Flashback Friday makes a quick stop at Raleigh’s Hotel Wiley. The old hotel itself is now long gone, but there is yet a tangible connection with the building’s first occupant and today’s Wake County Public Schools.
