Flashback Friday is on vacation this week, so in the meantime, we hope you enjoy this classic linen postcard of Carolina Beach — at night, of course. We’ll be back next Friday!

Great picture of Carolina Beach. I lived at Carolina Beach for three summers. I was MC for the dance band at the Ocean Plaza Ballroom. My best friends were the Britt family who oned the Britts Donot Shop.I could tell you some great stories, but I will not.The beach today is not like it was back then. Great memories.
Had my first Britt’s doughnut this weekend — gooooood!

Good ole Carolina Beach. We had a string of summer vacations going there in the early to mid sixties. The photo reminds me of the penny arcade, the battleship, sunburns, unsuccessful attempts at offshore fishing due to sea sickness and the Fort Fisher Hermit. I couldn’t figure out why a man in his sixties would walk away from his life and start a new one on the coast in a concrete bunker. Well, at 62 now I’m beginning to see why:)
