The Lights are Still On at Joe’s Place

Three months after officially closing, the unmistakable neon lighting of Joe’s Place is still lit.

When I first came to the Triangle and was attending Campbell University, Joe’s Place was a landmark to me so that I could make it back home in my initial excursions to Raleigh. Sad to hear that it closed but I’m glad the light’s still on.

I have been confused about this for the past few weeks because I thought it was closed. Do you know why the lights are still on?

Hah, I noticed that, too. While I appreciate the nostalgia of it… who pays the electric bill?

This is weird indeed. Like someone closed up shop one night as usual, walked out, locked the doors and that was it.
