Goodnight Raleigh - a look at the art, architecture, history, and people of the city at night

Black Friday Deals: Holly Aiken Stitch

Stitch is the newest addition to the downtown retail scene. It is the storefront and design studio for Holly Aiken, master craftsperson of stylish bags, wallets, and accessories made from durable vinyl. This Friday (and continuing all weekend) she is running an incredible special: 25% off everything in the store.

Although Stich retains the “Ladies Shop” designation on the windows that reflect the building’s past as a Ladies Dress Shop for almost 75 years, there are items for men as well. Wallets, messenger bags, wine bags, coasters, and unique greeting cards can all bring a smile to a man’s face this holiday season. In addition to these items, New Raleigh brings us word about her newest product: Laptop Sleeves to protect your high tech gadget in style.

The store mascot is Rey-Rey, and could be the sweetest dog ever. Well, after my own two dogs, that is. Holly’s wallets as well as the unique greeting cards are seen in the photo above. One of the cards reads: I was going to make you a mixtape, but then realized neither one of us own a tape player.

To view Holly’s full catalogue, check out her online store. You can get a sense of what all is available, but It’s also really nice to see everything up close and in person. Everything is designed and fabricated in the store (upstairs), so it’s neat to see a business owner have the manufacturing and retail storefront in the same location.

Support local business and save money this Friday by visiting Holly at Stitch. You’ll find something unique for a special person in your life–even if for some reason they have no need for a very attractive and unique bag.

Lupus – Glad I could help! I’m tempted to buy something there for myself, even though I know I should be thinking of others first..

I missed the evil knievel bags, now I’ll have to go back sooner rather than later.
