Goodnight Raleigh - a look at the art, architecture, history, and people of the city at night

Raleigh’s Newest Recording Studio

Tucked underneath a nondescript building off of Salisbury Street across from the Wachovia tower lies Tha Basement Studios. They specialize in both recording and producing. They just recently opened for business, and offer sessions for $40 per hour.

The space is surprisingly large and spacious, with plenty of room for a close gathering of a few friends or a packed house to do an intimate stage show.

Although it has “Basement” in the name and you descend down a flight of stairs below street level to get there, this is no dingy or musty hole in the wall. The staff members that run this place have several well accomodated rooms to serve all of your recording needs.

Chris, a.k.a. Bricks, playing guitar

Tha Basement Studios staff is comprised of Evan (Manager/Producer), Stephen (Marketing), Chris (Producer/Engineer), and Tommy (Creative Director).
