Goodnight Raleigh - a look at the art, architecture, history, and people of the city at night

A Night at the Rockford

Perhaps one of Raleigh’s best hidden treasures is The Rockford. If you are in the mood for a martini or other cocktail in a casual but not too casual environment with good music playing, this is the place to be.

Rob, who makes a killer martini

This is my favorite place to go for a martini.

Jason, Glen, and Mike

Located at 320 1/2 Glenwood Ave, but don’t look for a sign. There isn’t one.

Try the Margarita next time. Wow.

Good food too; smaller/lighter fare, but tasty and innovative. Very vegetarian friendly.

You know, I debated on whether or not I should put the part down about their margaritas. When I was there, the husband of blogger Quick Serve Kids had a friend in from out of town to specifically have the margarita.

Hey, John, thanks for the shout-out, whoever you are!

I guess I owe my husband a drink at the Rockford for marketing on my behalf, too.

Seconding all the positive things about the Rockford, its bar, food, drinks, and bartenders. It’s a great place. And, yes, if you haven’t tried the margaritas, you’re in for a treat. Try one (or two) with their black bean hummus appetizer.

Rob served me yesterday, and today I found out it closed permanently and unexpectedly.

Heartbroken. Rockford was truly a Raleigh gem.
