Goodnight Raleigh - a look at the art, architecture, history, and people of the city at night

Biscuit Station Restaurant

I guess it should come as no surprise that this place has no web presence. About all I can find are directory listings and a few review sites. I’ve often wondered if the place was still open, but similar to Finch’s Restaurant, I am rarely on that side of town early in the morning. I finally did go to Finch’s and it was an amazing breakfast and a unique experience.
Similar to that post, I’ll vow to visit the place sooner or later. In the meantime, does anyone have any opinions on this place?

I live up the street and have experienced the biscuit station. It’s a little bit divey (in the good way, imho) and the biscuits are incredible. Fresh biscuits with thick slices of bacon or sausage and egg are my favs. Perfect for a hangover, but be warned… they’re closed on Sundays.

Biscuit Station has, IMHO, the best biscuits ever. I am born and bred southern, but I’ve never had a better biscuit. Sorry, mom…

And for any of you bojangles fans out there, all I’ve got to say is just go and try one at Biscuit Station. You’ll be converted.

Yes, delicious, but “divey” is not saying enough. I love dives, but I get nervous when I see a Health Dept. grade on the wall that has a gigantic “C” on it. Obviously, they have improved this if they are still open (I saw this last year). I also know it can be far too easy to lose points on an Inspection. Rating a “C” just makes you nasty, IMO.
