Goodnight Raleigh - a look at the art, architecture, history, and people of the city at night

At Home in the Clouds

Recently I took my younger brother who was visiting from out of town to a familiar spot with a great view of the city. As the breeze crept up, I was enveloped with a gripping sense of Deja Vu.

This particular night was a bit more dreary than it was exactly one year ago when I saw the landscape for the first time. Reddish clouds were overhead this night, and it was significantly colder. The familiar low rumbling of the fireworks that were being set off as a part of The N.C. State Fair could be heard in the distance.

The menacing clouds overhead were both intimidating and beautiful. The feeling was the same, but the landscape slightly different.
