It looks like someone forgot to turn the power off to one of the towers on the City Plaza site. This was the first time I’ve seen any splash of color on the still under construction public art piece. From what I recently learned, this is but a pale shadow of what these 50+ ft. towers are capable of.
After riding a high PR wave with the likes of introducing President Obama at a rally in Raleigh and giving away over 3,000 cupcakes as a way to thank customers for two years of business, The Cupcake Shoppe on Glenwood Avenue continues to add charm to downtown and look toward the future.
If you’ve driven down Hillsborough Street towards downtown, then you’ve gone past the old Staudt Bakery at the Hillsborough/Morgan Street split. This nondescript art moderne-styled building from the 1940s has sat vacant for around 50 years.
