Nearly every city, suburb, or rural area has beautiful green spaces that are adored by locals, for various reasons. It may be a public park, a hidden path in a forest, ruins of a long abandoned house, or a garden – but to those who love them, it remains a place of solitude and source of happiness. One such place that maintains this status with me is the Raleigh Municipal Rose Garden and Little Theatre, in the Rosemont community near NC State campus.

It’s that time of year in which we reflect on the past year. Blogs and news sites all broadcast ‘best of’ and other memorable moments, in what is the web equivalent of the clip show. In this post we’ll do the same and look back on some of the articles that drew the most commentary, were popular, or otherwise deserve a mention as 2009 draws to a close.

Tonight (12/29) at 6PM, the founding DJs of the Afterhours segment on WKNC will play a 6 hour set spanning a few decades of electronica music. DJs Steve and Ben will be playing a wide range of dubsteb, ambient, electro, trance, tech house, and other flavors of electronic music.

The pair have reunited at about this time for the past ten years to play the anthems and hidden gems of years past as well as current hits in the genre. Steve and Ben first started Afterhours in 1997, named as the show originally started at midnight. As popularity grew, it moved to the 8PM time slot where it remains today.
