We had a very good experience with Hipsteria - my wife and I just relocated to the Triangle from New York City, and had a lot of empty space to fill in the house (our apartment was WAY smaller than the house we moved to!)

In our experience, vintage furniture stores can be very hit-or-miss; we were *very pleasantly surprised* by the quality of the pieces that Ben and Lee had on display, and actually purchased several (some pics of our purchases here.)

Even better - Ben delivered the furniture to our place in Chapel Hill the next day.

I LOVE HIPSTERIA !!!! I was browsing during First Friday Gallery Walk in Feb. I found a 1957 Hayford Walkfield dresser that I had wanted for years. The piece is in fine condition. I also found a 1960's Credenza, a green lamp and an orange slat glaze vase that I had to have to furnish my brand new home. Ben delivered the goods 30 miles to my home for a very low cost. I returned on Valentine's Day Grand Opening. I purchased a Danish dinette with 5 chairs. The fabric on the chairs is vintage 1960 and beautiful! I also purchased another credenza.....a 1962 Drexel...with glass doors! Ben delivered these items to my home. Brought everything inside and even put them in their place. I wasn't even home but Ben did the job anyway! Thanks Ben! I will see you Friday for Gallery Walk!!!

Sorry to say i had a really, really bad experience with Hipsteria..Very poor customer service and my piece was broken...What happened: I bought one of twin credenzas Ben had for sale. He couldn't get my piece ready on time and gave me attitude when I tried to arrange pick-up even after I had paid for it. He said he would be "too busy to help me get the piece in my car." When we did agree on a time, he didn't even have it ready! Told me I was supposed to have called immediately before coming...And this was a WEEK after I purchased it.. I agreed to come back in a few hours, and when I returned, the piece still wasn't ready: he said "he forgot and got busy.." -- after having just seen me 3 hours before!!! All the piece needed was a change of legs and polishing. He did a quick, not very good job while I sat there and waited, and after getting the piece in my car, I saw that one side of it was loose. After all that, the piece was broken!! What a disappointing experience...I won't be going back there...

I went to Hipsteria's opening today, Valentine's Day and found the perfect kitchen table (with two leaves), four chairs, a hutch and a small breakfront, for an extremely (and amazing) low price! It will go into my eat-in kitchen when I move to my new townhome in Apex the beginning of March. It was so lovely talking to Ruth Clark, mother of Ben. We traded "war" stories about our travels abroad and her background in furniture, etc. Amazing woman! Congratulations Hipsteria!

My wife and i went on opening day and found some amazing matching Walnut LP storage chests. I had been on a quest looking for those for years. They even offered for us add items to a wishlist. Love the store!
